EFT for Weight Loss - Day 2 - Sugar Cravings
I have decided to use my EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) practice to create a more healthy body for myself. In the process, I hope to teach you techniques that you can use for yourself. I recently had a baby, my first, 4 months ago. I have found my body transformed in ways I had not imagined. I thought that this would be a great opportunity to show you my process on myself and give you some insight into my work as a practitioner via video (on YouTube) and this blog. By the way, some of what I say may seem a little strange, but if you go along for the ride, I have a feeling it won’t matter much.
Today's Video:
Sugar Cravings are a common situation for many people, myself included. I love candy, all sorts. gummy bears, swedish fish, starburst, CHOCOLATE covered just about anything. I love cookies, especially with milk. I know that these things carry “empty” calories, but usually, I just don’t care. What’s a little gummy bear gonna hurt anyone, their “fat free.” Well, it’s usually a few fistfuls, not just one, and I’d like to consider eating with health in mind.
Enter, EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques). We can tap on our cravings and propensity for sugar in order to handle these situations without feeling deprived, nor any pain at all. Actually, the power is taken right out of the sugar altogether. See for yourself.
Let’s get started. If you’d like, follow me
along with the points and you can use my journey to help you along your
way. Feel free to substitute any of
your own thoughts for mine.
First
I need to check in with myself. On a
scale of 1-10 (10 being the most intense), my sugar addiction is at an 8.
Let’s
start on the karate chop spot.
“Even
though I love sugar and feel like I need to finish each meal with some, I’m
still a really good person.”
“Even
though I ate needless sugar yesterday and am afraid I’m going to do this again
today, I deeply and completely love and accept and forgive myself.”
“Even
though I have a sugar addiction, I always have, and maybe I always will, I
deeply and completely love and accept myself.
And I forgive myself for feeling this way.”
Eyebrow
Point. I love sugar.
Side
of eye. I like to eat sugary things.
Under
eye. I love candy..
Under
nose. I love chocolate.
Chin. I’m so into sugar.
Collarbone. I love to eat cookies with milk.
Under
arm. I love sugar.
Top
of head. I can’t stop eating sugar.
Eyebrow
Point. I’m okay.
Side
of eye. I can relax now.
Under
eye. I am healthy and strong.
Under
nose. I love myself.
Chin. by treating myself to healthy food.
Collarbone. I treat myself well because I love myself.
Under
arm. I’m okay. I can relax now.
Top
of head. I deeply and completely love
and accept myself.
Take
a deep breath in and hold it.
Now
let it go, nice big and smooth.
Now,
check in with yourself to see how you’re feeling about your sugar
addiction. Give yourself a number from
0-10.
I’m
at a whopping “1”, a HUGE improvement.
But we’ve got more work to do, many issues to tackle here throughout the
process. I know that I can do a quick
tap on any cravings I have throughout the day.
Make sure that you remember that for yourself. It’s an incredible tool, right in your back pocket…actually, at
the tip of your fingers!
SUCCESS: I haven’t even thought about the gummy
bears and swedish fish that are in my cupboard (except to be pleasantly aware
that I wasn’t craving them J. So far, I haven’t even needed to tap on this issue again. Nice and low maintenance.
